Plenty of good flathead have been caught between the Seaway and Jumpinpin areas with the Aldershots proving reliable for a couple of fish in the 80-85cm bracket on Tuesday. Whiting are starting to make an appearance on the bank behind TSS and also near the council chambers. Cured beach worms and live yabbies have been the pick of the baits for chasing these tasty little fish. Plenty of Bream are still being caught by those lure fishing the canals. Berkley gulp 2" shrimp have been the go as have the ecogear SX-40 hard bodied crankbaits. Offshore there are still plenty of good sized Yellowtail Kingfish being pulled from the 50Fathom line. 400gm jigs worked quickly and erratically have been too much for these aggressive predators to pass up. There are still good catches of Pearl Perch and Snapper being reported on both the 36 fathoms and 24 fathoms respectively. Some excellent Cobia have also been caught on live baits in about 40m of water SE of the Seaway. Good sized live Yakka's and Tailor are an excellent bait. Cheers Brandon
